Information Assurance

Information assurance (IA) is an emerging and rapidly expanding area of study which addresses fundamental problems in the design, development, implementation and support of secure information systems. The college of IS&T recognized this growing area by implementing a bachelor's degree in Information Assurance (BSIA) which is within the School of Interdisciplinary Informatics. The BSIA is a full undergraduate degree program geared towards students who wish to pursue a career in computer security or realted fields. A Master's Degree in Information Assurance is forthcoming. For students that would rather complete a traditional Computer Science or Management Information Systems degree, IA concentrations and minors are available as well. Finally, the Nebraska University Center for Information Assurance participates in the National Science Foundation Scholarship for Service (SfS) program, providing the possibility of up to two years full scholarship and board for qualified students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Degree requirements for the Information Assurance degree can be found on the College of IS&T website.
